چکیده

Based on the recent analysis of various databases, cold spray (CS), newest method among thermal spraying technologies, has received unabated attention hundreds researchers continuously since its invention in 1980s. The significance CS lies low process temperature, which usually ensures compressive residual stresses and allows for formation coatings a thermally sensitive substrate. This paper concerns low-pressure (LPCS) variant employed forming metal matrix composites (MMCs) with high ceramic contents all-ceramic coatings. At very beginning, influence LPCS parameters deposition efficiency (DE) is analysed. In next part, most useful feedstock powder preparation techniques LCPS are presented. Due to combination bottom-up production methods (e.g., sol-gel (SG)) LCPS, that works as binder particles MMC can be removed, resulting Furthermore, optimization parameters, it possible predict control phase transformation material. Further paper, differences bonding mechanism metal–ceramic mixtures properties applications also discussed. Finally, exemplary direction development suggested.

Bio-ceramic Composite Coatings by Cold Spray Technology

Bioceramics such as hydroxyapatite (HAP) have been conventionally deposited by plasma spray technique. However, due to the inherent high temperature in the plasma, deleterious effects such as evaporation, phase alteration, residual stress, debonding, and gas release etc., commonly occur in these coatings. This paper presents a novel approach to deposit bioceramic coatings at temperatures well b...

Thermal Barrier Ceramic Coatings — A Review

Thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) provide effective thermal barrier to the components of gas turbine engines by allowing higher operating temperatures and reduced cool‐ ing requirements. Plasma spraying, electron-beam physical vapor deposition, and sol‐ ution precursor plasma spray techniques are generally used to apply the TBCs on the metallic substrates. The present article addresses the TBCs f...

Delamination of Ceramic Coatings with Embedded Metal Layers

This paper investigates the effects of thin plastically deformable layers embedded in an elastic coating upon debonding of a multilayer from its substrate. Such coatings are normally deposited at high temperature and cooled to ambient, resulting in significant stresses from thermal expansion mismatch. Other stresses can develop during subsequent thermal cycling if volumetric changes such as pha...

Metal-ceramic joining by laser

Within the scope of increase in cutting tools efficiency, a CW CO;! laser beam has been used for butt welding sintered tips containing cobalt and tungsten carbide to a medium carbon steel core. After optimization of the laser processing conditions, full penetrating, sound and homogeneous welds are observed. Hardness is found to be nearly constant across the entire weld bead cross-section. Micro...
